A dialogue box pops up midway through the LiveConnect installation when writing to Windows Hosts file and keeps cancelling it, but I can't see it because it's behind the (immovable) installation progress screen. Any solutions?

You have to allow it to write your host file. Coz its how the proxy gonna work.
If it fales to write add the following entry to your host file(C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts):
127.0.0.1 muser.messenger.hotmail.com

I created LiveConnect - if you've forgotten. Thanks for spreading the 'word'. I would appreciate it if you have any suggestions on the same to share ... I'm not sure when I'll be bringing the next version out, but it probably won't need the downgrader.

u did a nice work with LiveConnect. i didnt use WLM b4 4 dat annoying smily central ad. n without MSNP13 dere wont b any ad i hope.

best of luck with your next release. we will b w8ing 4 it.

n 4 suggestions:
1. ranaming the shortcut as LoveConnect. (IMO it might create sum confusion to many users)

2. removing the smily central ad completely.

i guess ur tlking abt da smilycentral ad window. it basically comes with da MSNP13 (downgrader).
and LiveConnect does a gud job hiding it when ur connected. it still keeps popping up while connecting though.

well... dats my case.

and once i had da ad window showing up even after connecting. i killed all the msn/msndp/liveconnect processes (ctrl+alt+del) and restarted. things were ok after that.

Proxy Didn't work, I tried adding '127.0.0.1 muser.messenger.hotmail.com' to my hosts file manually. But it still didn't work.

Any help would be much appreciated!

the contact list has not appeared wen i use msn 8.0 how du i get it bak again, my mate sed wait 4 a while about 20 mins but i have and no contact list has poped up

hmm.. n when i was using WLM without invite i also experienced an issue of added cantacts not showing up instantly.. i had to hop (sign off / sign in) twice to find see it on list... may be it was due to the downgrader.

however... after getting the invitation (not using live connect/downgreader, the issue got solved :) .

so.. in case of any such situation.. ill suggest to sign-off and sign-in back again

After trying for past three days I can not bring up my email messages. How do I uninstall Windows live beta? I'm fed up with all the run around I've been getting. Can not find info for uninstalling. The only good thing I can say for the few days that it worked, is that I could finally bring up attachments that I couldn't do before. Other than that, I don't like the format presenting the messages.The send to list does not show for addressing email. I just don't like it.
Please give instructions on how to uninstall. My messages are piling up and some are expecting replies.
